Chapter 5

Can You Think of Anything Else?

As we mentioned, our vacation home has been a work in progress since 1988. Our vacation home has just about all of the conveniences of home. Microwave, large widescreen TV, stereo, DVD/CD/VCR, DVD library, high speed wireless internet connectivity (if you want to bring your laptop) out door speakers, washer, dryer, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, Falscraft dishes, outdoor hot tub, outdoor dining set, hand crafted art, a dining room table that seats 10+ comfortably, gas heat, fireplace / wood burning stove, cable television, telephone, high quality beds and on and on.

Here are a few other finer details that we have thought about:
1. Each bedroom has a makeup mirror in it for the convenience of the ladies (also helps keep the men happy by freeing up the bathrooms).
2. Colorado has a very arid climate, especially in the mountains. We have added humidifiers in each bedroom for your sleeping comfort.
3. We have a 75 gallon gas water heater. Most homes have small water heaters that are electric. You won't run out of hot water!!
4. We have ceramic toothbrush holders! You won't need to put them away in your bag and you won't need to leave them lying around to be pushed on the floor and stepped on by the kids (without you knowing it)!
5. We have little scooter sleds for the kids and adults acting like kids. Since our property is on a better than average hill, you can sled in our back yard.
6. Out-door hot tub on the deck sheltered by an open-air roof. Need I say any more? 7. A speaker switch box so that speakers can be turned on and off. That way the guys can listen to tunes while in the hot tub and the ladies can have peace and quiet inside the house (or vice versa… or any combination thereof!).
8. Out-door motion detector lights so that you can easily back out, pull up and get into the house at night to and from our driveway.
9. A neighbor near by that plows our driveway. Hey you came to ski didn't you?!
10. Bird feeder hanging from one of the trees just outside our picture window. It gives you an excellent view of some beautiful birds (especially the Rocky Mountain Blue Jay and his ladies! We also have a bird book.
11. A Sheriff that lives nearby helps keep things extra quiet and safe.

There are many more little "extras" that you don't think about, but which will make your stay that much more enjoyable and comfortable. But if you can think of something else, please let us know. We are trying to create the perfect vacation home and have been at it for nearly 20 years.
