Chapter 4

TLC Exclusively for You

Our mountain retreat has been a work in progress since we purchased it in 1988. We have always treated it as a second home and not an "income necessity rental property". Since owning the home, we have collected southwestern art and knick-knacks that adorn the home. The interior is a tongue and groove birch wood that has been treated with a Danish oil to provide a warm hue. The family room has a vaulted ceiling with wood support beams, and a wood burning fireplace/stove. A cozy sofa and love seat combination, entertainment center and a rustic bench and tables compliment it.

This combination creates a warm, comfortable ambiance that you can enjoy just like in your own home. And the large picture window, confirms that you are nestled in the woods. Our vacation home is a nice blend of rustic feel, contemporary décor and "homey" environment.

We visit our mountain home routinely. Sometimes we visit for our own vacation with family and friends.... Many times, we visit to ensure that the house is in the condition we expect it to be. We spend a significant amount of time maintaining our home both in person as well as with our network of caretakers that help maintain the home before our guests arrive and after our guests leave.

Anita and I live in the Denver metro area, so we are very active in maintaining the quality of our mountain retreat. We are also selective about the guests we invite to stay in our home. Because it is our second home and not an income producing necessity, we choose to have guests stay in our home that enjoy, respect, understand and appreciate the type of vacation home environment that we provide. We have many guests that stay in our home whenever they come to Breckenridge for this very reason. We offer an experience like no other

When you become our guest, our home becomes your home. Nothing can quite substitute for this feeling or the real benefit you derive from having YOUR "home away from home" in the resort community of Breckenridge, Colorado.

An older photo…but it shows a relic "Boreas Pass" sign that we hang in our home. My wife and I found this after a "late hike of drinking". Ladder in hand, we found this sign nailed to a pole…now it's nailed to our wall! (MORE)

Day Dream and watch wildlife out our large picture window. Desk in front of window allows you to do business (if you must). We have high speed wireless internet connectivity, so bring your laptop. Staircase going down takes you to a very large bedroom with two full size beds, an additional color TV, DVD and Nintendo game system. It is a great place for the kids to carve out their own space.
